April 2011 Results

Fun Day, Tuesday 26th April

The format for the fun day was a team competition 3,2,1 in teams of three players. All three scores count on 1st hole and the best score is doubled, the best two scores count on the 2nd hole and the best score is doubled and the best score counts on 3rd hole and is doubled. This format is repeated for the next three holes and so on. Thirty Eight players took part and it was quite cold. The results were as follows:

Midweek Medal, Tuesday 19th April

Thirty eight players had a smashing game of golf everyone enjoyed it sunshine all the way. The results were as follows:

Weekend Medal, Sunday 17th April

Beautiful sunshine, good course conditions and mentally focused after a psychology of golf talk on Friday, we were expecting some good results in the weekend medal. Eighteen ladies played and congratulations go to Bernie Croft for winning her first medal. The results were as follows:

Kim Wingrove Trophy, Sunday 10th April

Twenty players enjoyed glorious sunshine to play for the Kim Wingrove trophy. The format for this competition was a Chapman two ball. In this pairs competition, both players drive from every tee and then play each other's ball for the second shot. The team then select one ball to play the hole with. The third shot is played by the player whose ball has been selected and then alternate shots are taken until the ball is holed. Good course conditions led to some excellent scores, with the winners paring 11 holes. The results were as follows:
