Hawtree Trophy

National Finals, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2008

Hawtree Silver Medal Wexham Park were winners of the Area H2 region in the National Association of Public Golf Courses (NAPGC) annual Hawtree Trophy, qualifying for the National finals. The finals were played at Milton Keynes Golf Club on 6th and 7th September, with the semi finals played on Saturday and the National final on Sunday.

Wexham Park beat Stevenage in the semi finals by 4 matches to 1 on Saturday. In the finals Wexham Park were overall runners up to Bournemouth, who won 3 matches and halved 2 matches.

The Hawtree Competition

Hawtree Trophy The Hawtree competition is a mixed foursomes team matchplay knockout. Each team consists of five mixed pairs. Stroke allowance is half the difference between the combined handicaps of each pair. There are four Areas with Area winners meeting at the National Final weekend where there are semi finals on the Saturday with the national final and play off for third and fourth places on the Sunday followed by a Presentation Dinner.
